The metalworking machine tuner -operator controls various types of electric precision metal cutting machines, examines drawings, predicts the method of work and sequence of operations, measures and marks necessary points. Then the processed metal is removed and the machine operation is checked by measuring.

Main activities

* adjust, prepare various universal and CNC metal processing machines, working with small deviations;
* process the surface of parts with universal machines, process complex parts ensuring that the finished parts are ready for assembly;
* checke machine operations;
* examine work drawings and technical condition descriptions;
* predict the method of work and sequence of operations.

Characteristic competences

* align the metalworking lathe;
* ensure that the aligned lathe is ready for work;
* work with metalworking equipment and maintain it;
* examine work drawings, mark model lines and points on the part's surface;
* comply with workplace safety rules.
