Main activities
manages and controls the aircraft arriving at the airport, departing from it, taxiing on the ground;
manages and controls the flight of an aircraft in a certain airspace sector;
reviews and approves flight plans;
informs the flight crew and operations personnel about weather conditions, flight plans and air traffic;
applies the principles and practical knowledge of aircraft flight management.
Characteristic competences
announce and organize emergency, search and rescue operations; manage the operations of all aircraft on or near the runways and their servicing vehicles; maintain radio contact with adjacent air traffic control towers and other control centers; coordinate aircraft flights to adjacent territories; communicate with flight crew and authorities.
