Coordinates ships for carrying cargo and passengers in open sea and coastal waters. Leads the crew performing technical tasks, manages and steers ships in seas or inland waters, ensures the safety of movement and the efficient use of navigation aids.

Main activities

* responsible for safe ship management, navigation, and transportation;
* update and maintains ship navigation and communication systems;
* perform ship and crew safety procedures, including the preparation and implementation of evacuation plans;
* ensure ship equipment, including engines and electrical systems are properly maintained and repaired;
* collaborate with cargo owners, ports, government agencies, and other ships, coordinate voyages and operations.
