Monitors soil moisture and the state of inland water, performs water level and temperature measurements, makes hydrological forecasts.

Main activities

* observe water properties, laws and phenomena, physical, chemical and physiological relations of water;
* assess the impact of water circulation on human life, satisfies his needs;
* measure soil moisture and temperature, internal water level and temperature, collect information about dangerous hydrological phenomena;
* make hydrological forecasts about the state of inland waters, pollution, the possibility of floods, ice jams, ice drift and other possible threats;
* provide hydrological forecasts to residents and rescue services, perform other tasks related to hydrology.
