Designs the network topology and connectivity of information and communications technologies such as hardware, infrastructure, communications and hardware components.


Main activities

• apply guidelines related to ensuring access to and use of computers, networks, programs and processed computer data; 
• determines the policy, principles, rules, processes and criteria for the design, planning and implementation of information and communication technology networks;
• creates an encrypted connection between private networks, such as different corporate local networks, over the Internet, ensures that only authorized users can access it and that data is not intercepted;
• examines the transmission capacity requirements of the information and communication technology network or other telecommunications system;
• designs and plans information and communication technology networks, such as wide area and local area networks, that connect computers via cable or wireless connections and allow them to exchange data, and assesses their capacity requirements.
