315103 - Ship assistant engineer

Assists the chief engineer and the waking ship mechanic in carrying out operations related to the ship's hull. Controls main engines, steering mechanism, electricity generation and other main subsystems. Maintains relations with marine engineers on technical operations issues.

Main activities

* perform diagnostics and repair of vehicle engines;
* replace defective parts, repair damaged systems and devices;
* monitor engine performance, increase their efficiency and reduce fuel consumption;
* assess the condition of the engine and determine when planned repair is needed;
* confirm the compliance of all engine repair works with safety standards and manufacturer's recommendations.
