311105 - Meteorology technician

Deals with the accumulation, processing and maintenance of meteorological data, supervises the computer database of such data, adjusts meteorological equipment and measurers, writes down their readings.

Main activities

* participate in scientific research activities related to weather conditions and phenomena, study physical and chemical properties and processes of the atmosphere;
* adjust optical devices, determine the reliability of spectrometers, measure output power and compare results with the data of a standard device or a standardized set of results;
* use thermometers, anemometers and rain gauges to determine weather conditions;
* use meteorological data and devices, meteorological facsimile machines, maps and computer terminals, predict weather conditions;
* check calculated meteorological data, fill gaps between real-time weather conditions and forecasted weather conditions.
