Specializes in the installation, use, maintenance, and repair of astronomy equipment. Has knowledge of basic astronomy and astronomical research results processing, can coordinate astronomical measurement equipment, installs necessary software, performs other auxiliary tasks.

Main activities

* determine celestial bodies' positions in the celestial sphere and their changes over time, use astronomical measurement devices;
* register, accumulate, and process information and data obtained from observatories and satellites;
* oversee mechanical, optical, and electronic devices, identify device malfunctions and eliminate them;
* install and supervise computer programs necessary for astronomical calculations;
* perform auxiliary tasks, participate in research conducted by astronomers.
