Studies the motion laws of artillery projectiles, bullets, mines, bombs, and other ammunition, investigates firearms and their parts, cartridges, and firearm usage circumstances.
Main activities
* examine bullets and cartridge cases found at the crime scene, determine the firearm model, identify firearms, investigate collected physical evidence from the explosion site;
* determine the properties of explosives, explosive device constructions, and their usage possibilities, circumstances of past explosions;
* examine forces acting on a flying projectile, investigate and determine the elements of the projectile's center of mass trajectory;
* investigate and determine the stability and dispersion of projectile motion around the center of mass;
* study the motion of projectiles, mines, bullets, affected by a parachute or other propellant gases, other processes in the tube and in the combustion chamber of gunpowder rockets.
